SATCP Matching Grants: Call for Proposals Now Open!

The Southern Africa Trade and Connectivity Project (SATCP) is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for its Matching Grants Program, running from 6th January 2025 to 24th January 2025. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for businesses in Malawi to secure funding that will enable them to scale operations, enhance productivity, and adopt climate-resilient practices.

What is the Matching Grants Program?

The SATCP Matching Grants Program supports medium and large businesses registered and operating in Malawi’s key districts to improve their competitiveness and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The grants are designed to co-finance projects that align with SATCP’s goals, including the adoption of climate-resilient practices and enhancing connectivity along the Beira and Nacala corridors.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for consideration:

1. Registered Company
   Applicants must be legally registered in Malawi and provide a valid Business Registration Certificate as proof.
2. Operational Location
   Your company must operate within one of the 15 SATCP-targeted districts, specifically located along the Beira and Nacala corridors. These districts are:
   • Ntcheu, Dedza, Mchinji, Lilongwe, Balaka, Neno, Mwanza, Blantyre, Mulanje, Thyolo, Mangochi, Zomba, Chiradzulu, Phalombe, and Machinga.
3. Business Size
   Only medium and large companies, as defined in Malawi’s MSME Policy, are eligible to apply.
4. Operational History
   Your business must have been in operation for at least three years prior to the application date.
5. Tax Compliance
   Applicants must demonstrate tax compliance by providing the necessary supporting documentation.
6. Climate-Resilient Commitment
   Companies must commit to integrating climate-resilient standards into the proposed projects for grant investment.
7. Grant Application Form
   A completed Grant Application Form is mandatory. This form can be downloaded from the SATCP Online Portal (link provided on the portal).

How to Apply

• Step 1: Visit the SATCP Online Portal starting 6th January 2025.
• Step 2: Download and complete the Grant Application Form.
• Step 3: Gather all required documents, ensuring they meet the eligibility criteria.
• Step 4: Submit your application via the online portal before the deadline on 24th January 2025.
